John Kerry Sightings

So what's the good Senator from MA been up to lately? Not that anyone cares, but it's a good idea to keep an eye on him so we remember just what a flop he is.

In today's Boston Globe:

WASHINGTON -- John F. Kerry's decision to lead last week's unsuccessful filibuster of Samuel A. Alito Jr.'s Supreme Court nomination met with predictable ridicule from Republicans and some Democrats, but it could end up being his smartest political move in a long time.

The gratitude of liberal activists who hate Alito will be helpful if Kerry runs for president again. His willingness to pick up the flag and fight when no one except Edward M. Kennedy was willing to join him may impress those who think Kerry is a flip-flopper who has never exerted leadership in the Senate. And even the ridicule may be useful, in the sense that voters need to purge their frustration with Kerry before reconsidering him.

Kerry had joined the KosKids- he belongs to that far left wing of the Democratic party. I say it's a good place for him too...Not all Democrats relate to Kos and his gang of immature sidekicks...by keeping company with them Kerry may very well of sealed his own fate.

Other (non)newsworthy Kerry sightings lately:
He writes an Op/Ed -claiming to be a champion of troop support:

A Real Way to Honor America's Troops

By John Kerry and Lane Evans

For America's veterans, 2005 was like the movie "Groundhog Day." Day after day in Congress we have had to fight for the health care and benefits that our veterans have earned, but after every minor victory we seemingly have to fight the battle again the next day against the forces of resistance.

The year began with a shockingly irresponsible budget sent to Congress. Incredibly, the Administration sought a flat-lined budget full of proposals that would have increased fees and co- payments and shifted the burden of care onto the backs of veterans -- in spite of Department of Veterans Affairs statements in the past that a 13 to 14 percent increase in federal funding is needed annually just to keep up with the rising cost of health care. It only got worse. After months of repeated warnings by Democrats and veterans' advocates that the VA faced a dangerous funding shortfall, the VA during the summer finally acknowledged that these warnings were accurate and that it lacked the funds to adequately meet the health care needs of our veterans. In fact, the VA was over $1 billion short for the year and the Bush administration only reluctantly, under intense political pressure, agreed to request additional funding to provide the resources needed for basic veterans' health care.

Far be it for me to say, but Kerry is the LAST person who should claim any support for the American military. This is the same man who pretended to be a war hero; who h as never fully released his military records (what is he afraid of, what's he hiding??); this is the Senator who has consitently voted against increases in military equipment and funding for missle systems.

This is the same Senator who made the following statements in an interview with Esquire Magazine:

Unfit for Command was a pack of lies. I said so at the time. My crew said so. The Navy said so. But a lot of money was put behind the lies. If a lot of money is put behind a lie, it will become the truth for some people — particularly if they don't get enough of the real truth. I take the blame for not making certain that there was money behind the real truth. That's what I meant when I said I should've come back and coldcocked him.

...and:

One word I'd like on my tombstone to describe myself for generations to come? President would be a good one.

What a guy huh?
